I have drilled 3 -1" holes in the bottom of the football cover and trimed the rubber ring at the holes to fit nice and round, I drilled the football not the backing then I routed the the breather tubes to the ground and pluged the the breather hole at the back of the K&N oem replacement filter. Flows real good and now have a dry intake. Doc

You cannot see the 1" holes drilled in the football at all unless you look under the football. I used a 1" hole saw and touched up the burrs with a round file. Doc

I personally like the stock airbox. And, I have my Willie G Skull on it so I wanted to keep it. I went with the 3909 K&N and am really pleased. It just extends the stock out about an extra inch. Nothing bad. And, K&N makes great products.
