Default V&H Pro Pipes HS vs. Thunderheader

Im am considering changing my exhaust to a 2 into 1 system and am looking for the performance vs the looks and sound. Any opinions on either of these exhausts, or any others? It took me awhile to get to this point as i just didnt like the single sided pipe but..i reckon that they have grown on me and i am ready. I currently have Samson fistail slip ons on the stock pipes, 103ci S&S 570g cams.
My tuner suggested the 2 into 1 but i just wasnt ready for the looks change. So if anybody has a good 2 into system i would greatly appreciate your thoughts

Thunderheader hands downs IMHO. Check out my buddy bagger with the thunderheader 2into1 on.

I have had several, including: Pro-Pipe, ThunderHeader, WhiteBros E-Series, and D&D FatCat.

I have a ThunderHeader now because it was all that was available in black at the time. I am surprisingly satisfied with both sounds and performance.

My preference, beginning with most preferred is:
D&D FatCat
THunderHeader
E-Series
Pro-Pipe

The best performance is definitely the E-Series, followed by the D&D, then ThunderHeader, and Pro-Pipe.
The best sound is D&D, ThunderHeader, Pro-Pipe, E-Series.

Again.... everyone has their opinion...

I've posted this before. Your motor is similar to my SEEG but I have the 585 S&S Gear Drive. Bought mine used & the motor was already built. I took the thunder header off to try a 2 into 1 propipe & checked it on the dyno. Lost 14 Hp in the swap. I put the thunder header back on. You can not beat the thunder header for performance. The down side is the noise is loud and gets annoying on long rides...

On a built motor the Thunderheader can be loud, but if you are after the best performance possible..............go for the Thunderheader.

I have it on my stock TC88 with a Ness Big Sucker and PCIIIusb........and I love it. Super deep rumble at idle, very cool rolling thunder sound while cruising and I can still hear the radio just fine. But if I want it to bark...........it will bark loudly.

The sound is unique and very bad-a$$.........and the performance is great.

Check it out below,

Steve

I like the look of the 2 into 1 system on a touring bike. I have a 06 SG with the 95" big bore kit and I installed a 2 into 1 system from www.rbracing-rsr.com Check them out. I will post pics when I get a chance. I have used their systems on my last 3 Harleys, and I believe they make power. I have never had any of my bikes dynoed, I am going by the seat of my pants.

Good luck.

If I didn't have the Rineharts on my RG, I would have gone with the Thunderheaders. The sound and performance are excellent! I went with the Rineharts because the copper tips also matched my tin color. And, I was told I would get better mileage! True or not, I made the decision and went with the Rineharts.

Wow! I did check them out! That was probably the most interesting website I've looked at in a long time and I'm still not done! [Momma says it's time to go to bed now, and who knows luvins aren't out of the question!] BUT I've been keeping an open mind about the exhaust question and those 2-1 pipes DO look pretty cool! The prices aren't too bad either. I have them marked down for "in the running" how do they sound?
