I had the Heritagebars put on mine but didn't like 'em. I went with the wild1 508s and am satisfied. I think I'd be happier with the 518s though. Did have to change throttle/idle cables though.

I got mini apes and they are sweet. Nice position for long rides that allow me to let my arms hang in a relaxed position. I did not like the stock bars on the RKC at all. You have to be sure that you figure in where your seat puts you. A seat that moves you forward or back can mess up any suggestion about which bars are more comfortable. If you have a seat you love then it's about finding the bar that fits you. I have long arms and the mini apes work great for me.

+1 on this. The choice and advice is spot-on.

Seems to me, the easiest thing (and possibly cheaper, too, due to the cost of new cables, etc.) would be to drop an H-D "Reach" seat on that sucker...

Exactly what he said. I had a set on my 2000 RKC and you can't beat them for comfort and looks, IMHO.

I'm 5' 10 and I put on the Road King High Bars. The book says they don't fit but they do. $49 bucks, no cables or wires to replace but you have to bend the brake line just a little. I love mine. Made a world of difference.
