Default Bizarre Color, or next Ultra?

It sure sucks to lose my first Harley so fast. My metrics hung around for years and years, and now this damn accident. BUT......wifey and I are both OK which, as noted by all the great folks who posted replies to my accident post, is the first and formost important thing.

Now, onto my second Harley( another Ultra) - if this one gets totaled out.

Has anybody seen the new "custom color" 2-tone combo of "Concord Purple Pearl and Aztec Orange Pearl?" It sounds just bizarre enough to be really interesting. Does it look better in person than it does on the HD website?

Glad to see your O.K. - I've been there...

Piece of advice before you start getting all giggly about what "YOU WANT" next -

You might want to reflect on exactly what happened, why it happened, think about how you may have prevented it (if possible) for the future, Go to church and thank God your still with us, buy your wife a dozen roses for being such a good Woman, collect your insurance payment (hopefully without any hassles) then march your fanny down to the dealer and pick your next ride.

I think your being a bit foolhardy or rash in your thinking of rushing back into this without even brushing your pants off first - if you get my drift.

Nah, let the wind brush off your pants while you ride your new bike home to show the wife.

Havent seen one in person, but never saw an ugly bike from the factory myself. That new color combo you mentioned sounded different enough to get my attention so I promplty went to my nearest dealer and ordered one! Ship date is April 28 but dealer says to expect it by then. Havent talked to him in a couple of weeks ... need to drop in on him today and make sure its still looking like its gonna be here when he says, and nothings changed I guess.

I do understand what you're saying and take it in the spirit in which it was intended. I'd hesitate to classify looking forward to my next bike as being 'giggly'; I think it's important for me not to apply too much backward focus and relive the accident in my mind over and over. I have been thanking God, and would like very much not to become an ex-biker because of this crash, and end 23+ years of terrific motorcycle riding experiences. We've all seen it - accident traumatizes rider and those around him/her, and presto, the riding population is reduced accordingly. Sometimes that's a good thing, since you don't want shakey, less-than-confident riders in the saddle.

I'm going to retain my positive thinking, keep planning on getting back into the saddle, but am not rushing the process (bruises still need to heal).

If I start giggling at any point, I assure you I'll stop and re-evaluate what's going on in my head!

I haven't read about the accident, yet, so I'll refrain from any comment on that. I figure you're probably old enough to decide when to get back on...

But, the color. I waffle back and forth from liking that color combo to being scared by it! Very striking to say the least. And the colors on the website don't do any of the choices justice. I never could tell what Black Pearl was all about until I saw one in person. Buddy of mine ordered a bike in the Dragonfly Green and Vivid Black, the AAFES guys here had a color sample. The reality and online are nothing alike. Reality is world's better. In the end...I'd vote "Go for it!"

Enjoy the ride.

Just my opinion, but whomever came up with that color combo must have been color blind is all I can say. If you buy it you'd better hope YOU like it for a long time.

Good point - might be a hinderance if you ever want to sell.

Purple and Orange brings to mind Woman.
