Had a problem many years back with my pickup getting broke into several times; couple rifles, radar detector and stereo gone (8 track to give you a time reference!) Insurance always covered it with no hassle so the biggest pain was cleaning the broken glass. Anyway, an old timer suggested I just put a rattlesnake in there, since it always happened over the weekend. After about 3 weeks I come out in the morning, see the broke window and call the hosp to see if anyone came in with a snake bite. Sure enough there was a highschool kid and his friend there. Long story short, after speaking with their dad's they were my "gardening crew" for the summer!

"Castle Doctrine" means your not a criminal if you shoot somebody defending your property, or your life. It was always assumed you were the bad guy after you shot somebody. Not all states have this doctrine on the books.

Varies from state-to-state but basically gives you the right to blow someone away when defending your property.

It means intruders and theives need to be aware that each time they commit a felony at someone's property it may result in their sudden and unexpected death.

Nothing was damaged except for my faith in believing I live in a "safe" neighborhood. This was a good wake up call!!!

So, did the "perp" get away or is their a freshly dug patch of ground in your backyard?

I'm glad he didn't get your scoot or even F it up. HMMMM, Castle Doctrine every state should have that. It sure would cure a lot of crime.

It's what we need in Canada. Right now, the punks go around the revolving door at the court house and right back on the street to do it again.

I'd love to light up some punk with a laser sight as he was breaking into my house or garage. Watch him **** himself on the spot.

I'm assuming the law in CA would favor the criminals. Sherriff told me if I shot someone, I'd need to drag their body into the house.

yep, Canadian law sucks. A buddy of mine heard a noise, ran downstairs to find three young kids going threw his place and chased them out. Caught one about two houses down and dragged him back for the cops. Kid resisted a bit and he smacked him once (so he says!). Kid got legal aid, friend has to pay for a laywer. Kid charged with B&E, him with assualt of a minor. His right to defend himself and property ended once past the threshold of his door. Cop even told him after he should have said he caught him in the house.
LESSON: Drag the bugger back and put your word up against his. Then call the cops!
