I'd love to get my hands on a SG and start building my vision of it. 103", 21/18 contrast cut wheels, blacked out everything, stretched bags, smooth rear fender, killer stereo, etc.... My dilemma is that I have alot of $$ invested in my Fatboy. Much more than the pics would lead you to believe, and even more time. At one time or another, I've had every part off the bike except the engine and trans and no one has ever turned a wrench on it except me so I'm a little sentimental about it. I'd like to keep both but I can't at this time. HELP!
I just sold my Vrod for a SG, there is no comparison on the interstate - the SG is like a luxury car. BUT I do miss the lower, cooler, smaller frame for around town and bike nights... So my plan is to save up and buy a second bike for daily rides - i.e. Fatboy.

So my advice to you is to keep the Fatboy and buy a SG as a second bike. Hey - if you can swing it right now is a bad time to sell but a great time to buy.

Good luck.

Not surprisingly, the softail forum has a 60/40 split toward keeping the Fatty. But here, it's overwhelming how many think I should go with the Glide.

The question is how many of the softail people have had both? Typically the bagger is an upgrade from the softail for most..........just food for thought.

I put almost as much into my 2006 Heritage (motor/paint, 6-speed, etc. see in my photo gallery) and still traded for 2009 Street Glide. Haven't looked back once but I ride the highways alot. If I could have afforded both, the Heritage would have sit in the garage as I prefer to ride my Street Glide to work when I can. Stops better, handles better at low speeds, smoother, etc....

Just depends on what is more important to you. I actually wrote out the pros and cons of each to help me decide. For what I want out of a bike, the touring bikes are my favorite right now.

From another who went from a FatBoy to an SG there is no turning back. If keeping both is an option, then do it. If not, you won't regret it.
