If I were you (WAIT A MINUTE I WAS YOU) I'd get the Street Glide.
I can tell you would build a killer Street Glide machine.
I know you spent a lot more time and blood on your Fat Boy than I did on mine, but here's my 07 Fat Boy anyway
But I'm really loving the comfort and style of the Street Glide.
More stuff to come.

If you enjoy riding the Fatboy and it does pretty much everything you want it to do, then I'd say keep it. It looks totally awesome and you have already invested a lot of time, effort and money into it. It's a signature bike - a custom one-off. It would take a lot of loot to get an SG into that level of bling.
Then again, could be a great 2009 project!!!!! LOL

A good bud of mine bought an 04 Fatboy. It was his bike that made me decide to buy my first Harley. I bought a new 05 Heritage. I didn't do as much work to it as you have done to your Fatboy, but I truly loved that bike and didn't think I would ever want anything else, except maybe a stronger motor.
I bought my 08 SG when I was shopping for motor upgrades. It was a bit of an impulse buy, because I really didn't plan on trading bikes at that time, but I was interested in a SG. I have never regretted the trade for a second.
I put 22,000 miles in three full seasons on my Heritage and 12,000 miles on my SG on it's first season. The rides just get longer on the glide. I used to buy into that theory that the softails are better around town and short trips, but I now know that I like to be comfortable around town and on short trips as well as long trips.
I will say though, that I never ran into a situation where I had trouble parking the heritage, even with my wife on back. I don't have serious problems backing up the SG, but there was a time or two last summer when I asked my wife to get off the bike so I could back up easier. And no, she isn't getting heavier.................
It doesn't weigh that much more, but it must be just the breaking point for me when I try to back it uphill on bad footing. Other than that, there is nothing I like better about the softail now that I have ridden a glide for a season.
