I tried that this morning and a data CD will not play on my HD Radio. What is wrong? iTunes blows in my opinion, they are sooo restictive. They won't let you make their downloads into MP3s. What gives? The data CD wont even be recognized on the HD stereo..

I just tried burning a second CD copy as text and I left it set on maximum speed possible. Is that correct? The harmon Khardon spit it right back out saying "disk error". It plays regular burned CDs that contain about 14-16 songs each. I wanted to make one CD with about 75 songs on it. I still say iTunes sucks..

Speed choices are:
1X
2X
4X
6X
8X
12X
16X
20X
24X
MAXIMUM POSSIBLE

What should I be selecting?? I choose maximum but they dont work.

Make sure your tunes are in mp3 format.
Record in Data mode.
I use the slowest speed which I think is 8X (possibly 4X) in my software.

2005 and earlier head units aren't Harmon Khardon, and don't play mp3's. That's your real problem. The HK unit didn't come in until the 2006 model bikes.

I went aftermarket anyways, better quality units overall out there, for less than half the cost of the stock HK.

Ya'll keep goin with this Itunes stuff. That's what I use and someone told me to burn a bunch of regular cd's from Itunes and then rip them into windows media in the mp3 format. Sounds like a lot of trouble. SNS, I agree. Itunes is waaaay too restrictive but since I have multiple Ipods, they kinda got me by the marbles. I have the plug n play for the Ipod but I really don't like to have the pod vibrating around in the cold glove box.

The above is the link to see if you have the latest firmware / software installed on your OEM radio. It is for the HK systems only.
The current version is ST10v8.19.0 and TMS320v8.19.0
