The difference is huge! I just did the 103 kit with the SE Stage IV heads on my 2009 Street Glide and the bike is a monster compared to the stock gutless 96" motor.

Enjoy your bike and be happy with your upgrade. The Stage II 103 is really the best bang for the buck, especially with stock heads.

option a) $525 stage II kit on ebay, $70 cam bearing puller . $15 lfter magnets. You do all the work. 8 to 12 hrs. You will need an inch pound and a foot pound torque wrench along with a decent general mechanic's tool kit.

option b) pay list price at a dealer for stage II kit in the 650 to 700 price range. 95 bucks an hour for labor.

I bought new jugs and 106 pistons for 400 shipped to my door. That's not much more than a few hundred bucks. And worth every single penny.
My bike makes 107hp/115tq to the wheel. 100tq at 2300 rpms.
I can honestly say my bike is a completely different animal. And gets 50mpg on the highway. I'll never go back to a stock bike. Unless its a v-rod powered dyna

My Street Glide came with the SE 103 and cams. I forgot what cams, I think 255s. I like it. I never drove the 96 so I can't compare. I can only say that my bike is fast. I will be doing the head work in the next 6 months.

I did the same thing coming off a Screaming Eagle 1200C Sportster and never looked back. Rode it stock for the first 1000 miles then had the Stage II. Seat of the pants difference was worth it! Is there more power available with other options... unquestionably. As my Insurance man has said... you have to pay to play... how fast do you want to go and how much do you want to spend? I am OK now!

I have 2 bikes, one with a 96" stage 1 and the other had the 103" stage 2 kit. I will tell you the difference is huge.

I'm not a genius. I will say however that bang for my buck the SE 103 Big Bore Racing kit gave me the most bang for my buck without having to go beyond stock heads. This thread helped me a great deal. I saw much talk about who tunes your bike and I can say after 4 hours on a dyno in 98 degree weather it makes all the difference compared to a canned map. I also understand that there are some shady dealers that have dynos that can give you just what you want to hear. I will not name my mechanic and tuner. I will say he has many Salt FLat speed records to his name. In the conditions stated above and the add ons in my signature. My bike turned 91.7 Wheel hp and 116.8 Wh torque on a very stingy dyno that dynos Salt Flat bikes. I went with this set up for mid-range two up Tq. Yet I find my right wrist rolled back on a regular basis. Anyway thanks for everyones input. Just a new member givning everyone a thumb up. Only one way to Rock and Roll. WOT Reckless Rick
