Jugs and pistons are more then just a couple hundred bucks. Power Curve is made by Bassani. Its a dual header.

Yes, your right, there is actually something going on with the bike, that they are trying to figure out with HD Corporate. Seems to have an ECU or SERT problem. It is back in the shop for this as I write.
That said, its all things combined typically. If you look at a simulator program adding a single point of compression from 9:5 to 10:5 leaves really little on the table for increased power. What you gain you can easily loose in having to run retarded timing to avoid detonation on sheitty pump gas. To make a significant gain in power with compression you need to go from 9:5 to 11:1 Its a linear curve on compression.
So all combined at the end of the day we know its heads, it compression, its cam, its cubes its, purely leveraging a combination. What I am showing though is you can make some pretty serious power with the engine you already paid for. As for the 211s in a 96 compression, you can show it to him. It can be done! Hell it was only a few years ago the popular upgrade was 88 to 95. And we have seen some serious numbers from some of those builds.
As for the comparison he made with the 110 and his 96. I do believe that is very real!

My son is a builder/tuner and says he hasnt seen 107 ft lbs out of a low compression motor with 211's before. Looking at the AFR, it it was tuned properly (its rich 2500-3200, then lean 3200-4000, then way rich 4000-5200, then lean again above that) your #'s would change. Torque will go down and HP may go up a little, at the very least you'd lose the HP dip at 4300. Based on how far that AFR graph is squished and that your at 10-1 at 4500 your tuner owes you some more work.
His bike is a stock 96 with 255's out of an SE 110 with a big K&N and Bassani 2-1 dynod at 84 hp 101TQ in Colorado with just one of his base maps and no tuning. The CVO bike the cams came out of had the same pipe and K&N and dynod at 86/106 on the same dyno. Cubic inches alone dont make HP/TQ these motors need compresion and cams to make power.

Get 200 + highway city, 240+ on long range rides now, I am a pretty agresive rider ( as much as you can be with the stock motor). Last bike did the SE 103 with HQ 500 cams, Tmax tuner, MPG dropped to 28 mpg, 07 RKC, loved the power and tq but did not like stopping every 120 miles to gas it up. Now have a 09 UC with beaucoup range and 6 gal tank.
Seems to me that it depends also on how the motor is mapped. I noticed that if I rode below 80 mph (this going across Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada), my mileage was at or maybe slightly above 50 mpg. As soon as I crossed that threshold (3000 RPM) the mileage dropped significantly.
Years ago I built up my 03 Heritage from 88 cui to 106 and added some mild 510 cams. I was pulling about 98 hp and 110 ft lbs of torque. My mileage dropped from around 40mpg to about 35-38 mpg. Not a bad trade off.
My 08 eGlide though I use for longer trips, so mileage matters. You got to love that 6 gal tank and cruise drive!

Now you guys got me wanting the 103. I was all set to start and friends are trying to sell me on the HQ 107 but its more money than the 103 and would require more time to hide it from the wife. That being said, by the sounds of it the 103 should give me what I'm looking for. Alittle more lower gear grunt on take off, better for two up when that happens (not often) and not such a hit to the bank book.

I just did a 103 with 255 cams on my 09 Ultra and I have only ridden it maybe 60-70 miles due to weather but I can tell it's a big difference from stock. I did my labor myself, I bought the jugs and pistons from Veetwinperformance.com for $310, bought the 255 cams on ebay for $61.99, bought the gaskets at HD for $53.58, had my heads mildly ported and cc'd for $265 locally, and bought the SEST and disks for $500, that's a total of $1190.57 and I think it's going to be worth every penny. What little I've rode the bike it just pulls hard from down around 2000 rpms, I haven't revved it to high yet, needs a little more time for break in. I read all the hype about the SE 103 stg 2 not being worth the money but I did my whole build for what alot of places charge for pistons and cylinders.
