Default How would you upgrade a 09 Street Glide

What upgrades would you do to a new daily driven '09 Street Glide if you had $10-20K to spend for the upgrades? Would you focus on performance, maybe a 110" Screaming Eagle kit or a 117" from Head-Quarters? Would you buy custom wheels and as much chrome as possible? Would you purchase a custom paint job? Maybe a combination of all the above. Custom seat, upgraded audio, new bars with hidden wires, chrome controls, etc... The list o f options is endless. How do you plan out your upgrades for the biggest bang? Is it totally asethetics or do you go right for the functional upgrades?

start with the motor and then work your way out, mixing function with aesthetics.

I would get yourself confortable first. Whether it's the bars, seat, footboards or etc.... If you totally comfortable, then what's ever more important to you, either add-ons or power, that's what you need to do.
10K is a lot of something, that's for certain! and if I had an extra 20K to spend, I'd buy another bike!

Mild performance upgrades first - exhaust, ac, tuner. Then a few appearance dodads then by that time you'll have a few miles and then back to the motor.

If you want a "Hot Rod" do the motor 1st.
Because that's all you'll think about.

If you want a "Jaw Dropper Cruiser" do the cometics.
Wheels 1st: 21"/18" combo

I need more info

lol, I want it all of course. I want a jaw dropping hot rod which I can ride to work every day for 11 months out of the year and take on long tours during the summer. I ride in cold down to 10-15 degrees.

windshield (clearview) 8inch (have)
4 point docking system (have) w/passenger backrest
CB and nav
heated demon grip warmers (soon)
speaker system and amp (prob from firecap soon)
103 kit or something similar (pipes, tuner, intake(heavy breather)) (have part of well its on its way from fuel moto)
new seat with heat...like corbin cause it locks
some blacked out parts
new wheels maybe and some Avons(tires)

be good to go then.. wouldnt cost me 10k to do them, specially if I did most of the mods myself (can do everything but the engine upgrade myself tho I can do parts of it)

ok, spend the left over on trips across the country..heh not everything has to go into the bike
