Hey got mine to make old guys on Road Kings mad...

Actually my bike had an older Kenwood auto cd player in it when i got it. It skipped pretty bad... like anytime the bike was running! I ended up using a mp3 player velcro-ed to the dash 99% of the time.

So i figured i'd change it out to a marine cd player which has better oversampling so it skips less easily. Then i came across a Marine DVD player with built in screen (no flip out to break), and a major deciding factor was the built in SD Card slot. 32 gb of mp3's there plus mpeg music videos on the dvd for playing when just hangin out somewhere...

A marine rated unit with large display, high capacity mp3, usb drive input, aux input, 5 RCA outputs for about $200... Does that sound better than "DVD player"?

Anyway here it is...

Oh and it does have a stereo too! haha

Now you can watch the Ride Like a Pro videos in real time as your practice your U turns and slow speed Friction Zone skills

Seriously, not for me but I don't feel it is way over the top. Maybe the OP could share a little more info on what he is looking at doing with it and then that way people wouldn't be coming to all of these assumptions.

Eh, to each his own. A few years ago everyone thought having a DVD player in your car was “ghetto” now every soccer mom in the US has one in the minivan. Of course it is not safe for riding. Anyone that feels they have to remind anyone of that is acting a little holier than thou about it. Like another poster said, having a beer, riding without a helmet or even amour, going over the speed limit…all of it is dangerous.

I have 2007 STS Cadillac with a nav system that can be used as a DVD. You cannot enable the DVD player while the car is in motion, hell you can’t even dial the blue tooth phone; that’s how it came from the factory. I also know there is a way around it. Could I get around that system, sure I could. But I see no use for it. But that’s me.

If a guy wants to watch a DVD while in motion that is up to him. I mean at the end of the day, he is putting himself at risk. It’s the people in the cars I worry about, texting, phone use and watching DVDs. Other bikers? I’m not too worried about them when I am riding. My $.02.

When guys here use the term dvd player for their bikes, I assume they are wanting them for all the capabilities that these units possess. Come on haters, do u really think a guy riding down the rode is gonna watch a dvd? Please! Now I would like the gps feature and just might put in a live music dvd so I could jam out to live concert type music, but watch it, get real haters!
