Default Need to upgrade speakers on 09

Looking to do a simple upgrade on my 09 FLHTC. I need better speakers the stock ones just don't do it. Looking for clean clear crisp sound with ample bass. Would like to find speakers that match ohms and watts and would match bolt pattern and plugins. Any suggestions out here. Thanks.

Contact Firecap501. Also, there's about a bazillion threads in this section that deal with stereo's. Check them out, there's some good info.

I've got the HogTunes speakers and amp. During the install, I did the lower faiirng speakers last, so I was able to listen to the unamplified upper fairing speakers first with no amp...the sounds was far better than stock.

Better speakers will most likely have more watts. The wire terminals will vary and the hole patterns are the same for 5 1/4" speakers.
There are many brands to choice from.

A speaker may handle more watts, but does not produce watts. This is the job of the amplifier.

A speaker that is more efficient will sound better, possibly even lounder.

There are many brands to chose from.

What ever sounds best to you are the right speakers.

With 5 1/4 speakers it's going to be tough to get good bass out of them.

I guess I should have clarified my statement about watts. What I meant was speakers that match my stock system for wattage and ohmic value. Thanks for the input I will check older threads.

Firecap seems to really know his stuff. I'd go with the ARC amp and speakers.

You need 2 ohm speakers. Most car speakers are 4 ohm.
