FLHT vs. FLHX

I know I've responded to this exact same question before. Basically, I liked the more PRACTICAL things on the Standard much more. Mine came with cruise control. The taller windshield was also important. I do a lot of two-up riding so I needed more suspension. The Standard has better mirrors and a MUCH more comfortable seat for touring. You can add a marine radio later for much less than a H-D radio. Chrome isn't a big deal to me.

I bought a EGC back in 2001 and turned it into a SG before there was a SG. Then HD came out with the SG in 2006. I loved that look and have always been into the slamed bagger look. I traded my EGC for a 08 SG and missed my EGC instantly. 6 Months later without takeing a beating from my dealer I traded for the Ultra. I love this Ultra but now I am going to Slam it down to a SG. So I guess my point is all baggers are fun to make your own. If you have a Standard , Classic , SG or the Ultra then enjoy it because you are on a awsome machine and make it your own.

I've owned both and I must admit I like the eg better ride wise. The sg has all the looks out the box but if you get a good enough deal on a eg it's a no brainier for me. I'm gonna powder coat or paint everything anyhow so the electra is as many have already said "the perfect blank canvas"

While the Electra Glide rides a little smoother, it also sits up higher and has an older mans look to it. (Geezer Glide)
Street Glide has a custom look, more fitting a younger spirited rider. It sits lower, looks cooler and handles more nimble due to being closer to the ground with lower profile front tire and 1" lowered rear shocks.
The tried and true long distance riders tend to the Electra Glide, while those looking for a little more modern design opt for the Street Glide. Lots of cool items like the standard upgraded footboards and rear pegs, sleek one light fairing with integrated mirrors, along with the very cool looking 3 band rear fender extended light all go together to make the Street Glide more appealing to most.
