My '09 Ultra for sure leans more than my other bikes did. With my bad left leg, it would be nicer to start off alittle more upright. And yes, how many times do you get off your bike and it moves on the stand and it makes you jump, thinking it's going to fall over or something. That's happened to everyone I know.
There have already been a number of threads here about the subject. The pic I posted is of the new bracket that makes the '09s sit more upright.
anyway to find out when they started using the new bracket. i got my 09 in August and i was warned that it leaned over more than my 01 did. i had to move the left mirror when getting ready to tie it down in my covered trailer and i have had to get used to using more body mass when mounting to lift it at the same time.
Im going to call the MoCo cust service about this one, we shouldnt have to spend $60-70 for a part that was supposed to be put on the bike from the get...they obviously know about it or they wouldnt have made a new part

HD Customer Service may be able to tell you based on VIN or ship date. I heard like the first 800-900 touring bikes. I got my SG in October and the lean angle was the first thing I noticed.
Just spoke to cust serv.. "take it to a dealer and they will replace the mount under warranty"
Good to know...hate the dealers
Wonder if this makes it an official recall? I'm putting the EZ-UP center stand on mine anyway but still intend to use the side stand from time to time. I did notice my bike does lean wayyy over on the side stand, seemingly too much and the more lean means the more weight on the stand. In the summer when the ground tends to be soft, that can spell more problems of it sinking in and then falling over. I carry a hard plastic puck (heavy duty) made to put under the stand too for soft situations. Still, if it's a legit recall, I'd like to have it fixed.. (I'll have to ask my dealer next time I take the bike there.)
