Default Harley newb question

some of you may remember reading that this is my first HD. Its actually only my second bike and I have been riding less than a year. I am right about 615 miles on the RK so far. Is it normal to start hearing more noises as the break in progresses? It seems like I am starting to hear more and more little noises as time goes on. Also, after the handle bar swap, I now notice a rattle/vibration kind of noise from somewhere around the clutch lever area. I can't find anything that seems to be loose.....

Well any bike will seem tighter when it is new. Maybe you should just ease up, and enjoy your scoot, and if something is wrong, let the warrenty fix it. nice bike, by the way.

that rattle at the clutch lever is probably the lever itself. My lowrider lever rattled like L! You're probably hearing more noise cause you're getting over that "New Harley" smell

Welcome, Brett!

I suppose it's natural to hear more noises in the first few months because we are listening more intently - especially since this is your first Harley. One of the "features" of a Harley is that it's more "mechanical" than most other bikes because of the air cooling and exposed pushrods. But these engines are about as bulletproof as they come!

I can't think of what the rattle would be around the clutch lever. Does the lever seem loose? As I recall, there is a plastic "spacer" that goes between the lever and the housing and I wonder if that piece is missing?

That's what you get for reading this forum. Things you would not think are strange otherwise are brought up here, getting us a little paranoide about everything. Sometimes a noise is just normal ware not meaning the bike is ready to blow up.

It's under warranty, so ride the crap out of it and if something needs fixing, make 'em fix it. Nice ride.
