I will be changing out the Factory Torx Bolts on My Derby Cover with Hex Head Bolts which will make it easier to remove them, I am using these 1/4"-20 x 5/8"

The best stainless bolts made have the threads pressed in, as opposed to being cut in.

I replaced EVERY bolt on my bike to the Diamond 12 pointers. Awesome bolts, in my opinion...but get your heart right, they don't come cheap.

Outstanding information. I think I knew about not grading of SS bolts, from the distant past.
The article is very interesting and the design of the bolts seems to be exceptional. Very impressive strength numbers for the SS and the geometry of the heads gives extra web thickness at the shoulder.
I hesitate to ask, but I am guessing they are $15 - $20 each? Between roll threading, testing, polishing...that is a lot of labor for each fastener.

I wouldn't buy direct from them either.
There are indy's, like M&M Cycle, that gives huge discounts.

I hesitate to say, I have upwards $1800 in bolts on my scoot...but like I said, I changed all of them.
Diamond is coming out with some new 12 point axles, too. Can't wait to see those!
