Default FLHTC and a Softail Deluxe drag race

Ok I have a Classic and it has cams push rods and a race tuner. Total cost install at purchase was like 2500.00.
My friend has a 08 softail Deluxe and when we took off he smoked me??
I know he has a bike that is 100lbs lighter but thats it. He has Sampson pipes stage one otherwise stock.
Mine on the other hand has some mods done that I thought should at least compensate for the weight difference! But no, he smoked me every time in 3 runs. We only went a short distance so don't know how it would do at top end but lite to lite he's much faster.
I'm sure that the fact he has the B motor has no bearing, any thoughts anyone?

My only thought is you have a beautiful bike there Tim. Kick your legs out on those bars and don't worry about how fast that big bitch of yours can go. Also you were rocking out to Lynyrd Skynyrd and your buddy wasnt!!

If you wanted a dragster why did you buy a geezer glide????

If you want to smoke his butt go get a V-rod!

Cam's don't do much without porting the heads and upping the compression. IMHO, headwork far outweighs the addition of cams if I had to choose one over the other. What did you're bike make on the dyno?
