well, here's a set of used 1 season soft lowers, bid right now is at 1.00, buy it now for 22.00. i have no stake in this sale, just happened to see them. do a search on ebay for item number: 200280898238
just got mine a couple of weeks ago, definitely worth it. but like the instructions say, don't use them above 50*, you will feel the heat.

I have the Road Spirit ones that are on e-bay now for $26 + 8 shipping (I pd 32)and really like the easy on and off with velcro. They work fine and fold up small so I'm planning on keeping them on the bike for rain also.

I just went out during the lunch hour and bought a set of lowers from the local H-D. There is an instruction sheet enclosed that mentions the temperature range and that engine overheating may occure above 50 degrees. Actually, the lowers only provide a narrow slit no wider than the gap between the two front down frame members for air to hit the jugs.
Installing them on the RG leaves the top part a bit wrinkled because of the fairing supports that are mounted on the engine guards. Also, the location of the footpegs on the engine guards has to be specific to hit the slot on the lowers or once again, the materiel will not lay flat and smooth.
Now I'm wondering if the lowers for touring models has a specific design for the RG. I told the dealer that's what I was putting them on.
