Default Heated cloths

I just picked up my 2003 Ultra from the shop where it had to have the stator and voltage regulator replaced. The bike has around 57,000 miles on it so far. The guy at the shop said my heated gloves caused the charging system to fry.. Has anyone else had a problem with heated cloths causing problems with the charging system? I have used heated gloves for 4 years and have not had a problem until now.

Partner, I'm usually pretty conservative when it comes to words, but, if a mechanic told me my electrics caused me to fry my charging system, I'd ask the idiot where he got a license to practice BS!!!!!

Uh, yeah, right! Four years with heated gear, & it just now caused your charging system to fail? The fusing didn't do any good? Was that guy sellin' somethin', or just flappin' his gums to make himself sound important?

Harley stators fail. Probably at the plug, but you'd have to look at the failed part to be sure. Sounds like your wrench is sellin' somethin', or just overly impressed with himself.

None of what he said makes sense...especially after 4 years of use. I would think that if they were causing problems the electric gear would not feel like they were working correctly.

If you had a problem with your gloves the fuse would have failed. Take some advice find yourself a new wrench.
