Actually it won't make any difference. The Heattroller simply cycles the power on and off. It doesn't have any effect on the amount of current it passes. If you turn it all the way up so that the indicator is on steady then you're feeding a constant 12V to the clothes. What can make a difference is how they're wired up together. If they're wired in series then they will split the load and not get as hot. If they are wired up in parallel then each load, ie: jacket, pants, etc will get full current. Maybe they aren't wired correctly. I hope this makes some sense.

I'd try the coat by itself to see if it warms you enough. then do the pants.
if both work, then get a dual thermostat.. keep the socks & gloves on one, coat on the other and set the thermostat where each is comfortable

I use the dual - coat on one, gloves & socks on the other.. I don't connect the pants.. mine are snowmobile type and block wind.. haven't had to connect them yet.

Default enough stator

you guys running with heated cloths, did you have to upgrade to the higher capacity stator?

No - my 06 Ultra came with the high output stator.
I just keep an eye on the amp guage.. if I see it consistantly low, I turn off the seat, or the grips.
I also changed all the bulbs to LEDs to keep the normal current load low

When I get home, I throw the bike on the battery tender to keep it topped off

been 2 yrs, haven't had any problems
