any strait wt. motor oil works. the last time i changed my fork oil i used 30 wt. about 4or 5 years ago. no problems with it. if you want a softer ride 10 or 20 wt. will do.

I put in automatic transmission fluid. Somewhat stiffer than the stock fork oil, but I got used to it quickly and now kind of like it.

Im going to change my fork oil to Spectro 40wt fork oil. I have noticed the Screamin Eagle fork oil is still a little thin for my needs with this trike setup. The front end takes some abuse in cornering now since I cant lean like I use to riding 2 wheels up

If what a little stiffer ride use the Screamin Eagle otherwise use the Type E (OEM fork oil). I prefer the Screamin Eagle fork oil for my bagger and Type E for the cartridge type forks on my Dyan T-sport

Im following your lead. I picked up the 40wt oil. Im finally getting the front end back together. I had a hell of a time gettin the screw caps back into the tubes with the spring in there. im not a big man. Im going to the chiropractors tomorrow. If a front end seal ever goes again. Its going to the shop!

I use Amsoil fork oil in all of my bikes. The Amsoil site lists the correct viscosity for yours.
