103 upgrade price?
I just got an email from my local dealer. They are having a special. $1,650 for a sceamin eagle 103 with big bore pistons, cams, download, ect.. parts and labor. Does this sound like a big a savings? I am thinking about it. I talked to the service rep and he said its not warrantied by the factory but is warrantied by the dealer.
Can this still be done cheaper if I go to an indy?

Without looking up my paperwork I think I spent about $1950 for the parts and labor.
Sounds like you are getting the winter special. Good luck

$350 for Wiesco forged pistons, pins, rings and gaskets. $150 to bore your cylinders, $500 for cams, chain, torrington bearings and gaskets. $350 for PCIII., $80 HD manual, $150 jims bearing removal tool, $50 to have HD shop press cams off /on plate, $40 for 2 jims oil pump alingnment pins / tool. ......total $1670
knowing I did it myself...priceless
seriously, its a good deal. I just could not do that much work without having the heads cleaned up, 1.94 intake, maybe 2.0's and 1.6 exhaust valves installed. Add another $500 to $1200 depending what you do....That job I do hire out to Charlie Westcott...NHRA superstock national record holder and cylinder head guru. If it flows air he's it.

I'm doing my own right now, I bought my cylinders and pistons from vee twin performance, it's stock cylinders bored for the SE 103 flat tops included for $310, and I picked up a new unused set of the SE 255 cams for $62 on ebay. I went to my local HD dealer to get all the gaskets I needed for $46 and a SEST with all cables and disk for $500. I am having a local shop clean up my heads for $200, so I'm going to have $1118 in a nice 103 with headwork and a tuner.

great, thanks for the info. I thought about doing it myself but I want the warranty to stay and I am not real sure I could do this without screwing something up.
Just this morning the family CEO said, "take it out of savings and do it", she is really into going on long trips up the coast with the t-bag loaded so the extra power would be nice.
Thanks for the input
