Default Helmet Locks

How do you secure your helmet when you get off your bike?
I have a new FLHT Standard and hadn't found a good spot to put my helmet. On my old bike I could set it on the sissy bar but the width of the pad on the new bike will not allow me to.

thank

I have unique security system. I carry my helmet, and park the bike where I can see it. I understand this will not work for everyone.

I just use a bicycle cable lock with an inline combo lock when my tour-pack is too full to put helmets in there. The cable is about 6 feet long and can secure two helmets and a couple jackets. Just slip one end through the D-rings on the helmet and through the jacket sleeves. Works OK so long as a determined thief doesn't come along.

Leave it on the mirror. I don't think anyone would steal it. Haven't so far anyway. Most people wont even touch the bike.

I bought an HD helmet lock and mounted it on my engine guard below my highway pegs. Up here in VA, there are a lot of places I am leary about leaving an overpriced HD helmet and don't necessarily want to carry it w/me. The lock was $18.95 at HD, mounts easily, and works well. It looks like it is a part of the Highway Peg mount.

They mount on crash bars, bag guards or frame down tubes with tamper resistant screws

I just lay mine on the seat. I don't think anyone will mess with it. If I'm wrong, then time for an upgrade.

You can use 2 different kinds of locks. One is the kind you use to lock up guns with the plastic coated cable. The other is I use my handcuffs and lock them to the handle bars and when the see the insignia they steer wide of it!!
