GPS Recommendations Please..

RE: GPS Recommendations Please..
The model I have is Navman ICN520 I don't think it's made for bikes because it's not water proof. When I use it I just put it in my shirt pocket with ear phones and follow the directions, when it's wet I have it in a warerproof plastic bag. It comes with a memory card with all of Australia that is where I live and aditional cards are available for the world. These things are so good getting around unknown citys.

RE: GPS Recommendations Please..
I use the Garmin Streetpilot 2720. All maps of USA and Canada preloaded, shockproof, water proof (for road use). Very easy to operate. I use it in the car and on the bike. If I am out for a ride...no where particular I will set the unit to "go home" and it will continuously recalculate the route and tell me what time I will arrive. So I just buzz around exploring and when my time is up, I follow the GPS route home.

Well - The decision has been made...
I really appreciate everyone's comments and based on what I read here and an awful lot of snooping around the 'net, I finally decided to go with the Garmin StreetPilot 2730. I went with this one for several reasons..
For those not familiar with the unit, it's a combo gps, xm radio and mp3 player - all of which I was looking to add to my ride anyway. So instead of 3 hookups, I now have one.
I've been using it in the car (until the RAM mount comes in) and let me tell you - I'm really enjoying this thing ! The screen is easy to see and very easy to operate. All the software is alreadty pre-loaded.. I just plugged it in and it was ready to go. The voice prompts help u keep your eyes on the road instead of the screen too.
The XM radio and mp3 player sounds excellant for a gps unit !!
I purchased it online via BUYDIG.com. They were excellant to deal with and they were the cheapest around - even cheaper than the ones listed on EBAY. The day I placed the order, I got a call confirming that I was indeed the one who placed the order (that impressed me !). 2 days later, the unit was at my front door and I didn't even pay for 2 day shipping !! Just an excellant company to deal with and their rating with the BBB shows it (they are rated AA out of AAA). Not too shabby..
Anyhow - Thanks again for your opinions everyone. I really do appreciate it..
