Talking This is the weekend...........

....... the cam tensioners come out and the Andrews 26G's go in. All the parts are at home, and the tools will be there today.

I must say the box of cams and gears are a little intimidating. I will be assembling the cams and gears by freezing the cams and heating the gears.

I have been reading all the threads I could. Thanks for all the help and tips.

I'm also interested in how it goes. I'm putting off diving into the cam chest until the snow piles up. Haven't bought all the parts and tools yet but I have a list.

If you want to sell your cam tools when done let me know.

It is an easy job once you have studied it. I'm sure you have your bases covered. Here are a couple of tips:

Make a drawing of each cover on card board and poke holes in it. Put the bolts in the holes, so they go back where they belong. A few guys have messed up and put too long of a bolt in the support plate hole and dimpled a lifter bore...Not good....A pizza box works great.

Use cotton swabs dipped in alcohol to dry out the bolt holes in your engine case. The first reason is to make sure the locktite works. However, a lesser, but good reason is to prevent the hole from being full of oil when you put the bolt in. It if is full of oil, you can crack the case.

Good luck.
