they tel me it is normal: glowing V&H duals; rear pipe
Put Vance & Hines Dresser Duals on the scoot yesterday and reprogramed the Fuel Pak with the proper settings...Went on a 40 mile cruse to listen to the "new music." All was good EXCEPT when I got home after dark, the rear pipe was glowing like it had been in a blast furnace! V&H tells me it is due to the thin wall pipes and is, get this..Normal. Seems like it will fry the starter if nothing else...
Any of you folks who have the V&H Dresser duals that have been told it is normal to glow red friggen hot had any abnormal issues with the hot @$$ed rear head pipe? Makes me nervous....

When I first got my Road Glide, and before I did any tuning to it, I noticed my rear pipe glowing red hot in the dark of the garage. Naturally, I was concerned and asked my dealer about it. They said the same thing, that it was normal, that the bike came tuned from the factory fairly lean and this was a common occurrence. I haven't really looked at it closely in a while to see if it still does it, as I have since put the SERT and other mods on it.
