Ultra classic owner finally tries gw

I came to the same conclusion after riding GL1800 for five years. Knees cramped and the seat was too shallow and not dished right at all. I couldn't get comfortable. I was considering getting a custom seat but they run over $1,000 and I was afraid of throwing good money after bad. Windshield buffeting for me and my passenger was a problem inspite of different windshield heights. The motor makes awesome power though.
But there was something else. I know is sounds dumb, but sometimes I'll just sit (beer in hand) and study a motorcycle parked in my garage. I find the Harleys, Airhead BMW's, and some others visually interesting. The plastic covered Goldwing wasn't one of them, it was just a bike.

I Know exactly what you mean! I thought I was the only one that did this. I'm sure I've looked like an idiot several times at work standing in the parking lot staring at my bike. My buddy at work also has a '08 Ultra, and I can just stand back and stare at em sitting in the lot side by side. -- Damn! Gettin wood right now just thinkin about it!

I bought a EG standard in 05.Got about 30000 trouble free miles.Rode a 09 Ultra demo bike. You guys riding older EGs had better not ride the new 09.Its bad jewjew.Becaues your going to want a "new" one, real bad. They handle better at every speed .They ride much better. They are hard to lug and are so smooth its hard to believe its a Harley. GWs are great bikes. But at 6'6" there no way I can fit on it.
I ordered a new 09 Roadglide.

I have two co-workers with GW's and loves their bikes, says its the best. Mind you they have never own Harleys, upgraded from other honda's. Well on a trip to and from florida I had my chance to ride a wing other than test drive around the block. Yep, lots of power and smooth...We were bucking a 30mph head wind and I was having a hard time holding a line..after about 100 miles I took my EGC back...Hell the wing guy said my bike was handling find...I know, that is why you are giving me my bike back....he laugh...we rode off....
