How to disable running lights on front of a 2009 SG?

This must be correct because most motorcycles do *not* have them, including my BMW's and Kawasaki KLR. Electrical Connections, and Run'n Lights make kits to add them though. Wait a minute, this thread is about disabling them...sorry.

I was not referring to DRL's. I know they are not required, I was referring to the front amber lights that double as directionals. These amber lamps are the ones that are mandated by DOT. They have to be operating.
I don't understand how we as riders want to modify our rides to the point that operating them on public roads sets you up for failure. You want to take off your lights (or disable them) and then when the LEO stops you and gives you a ticket you scream harassment when it was you that caused your own problem. Please don't get me wrong, I'm all for individuality and customization but I would not want to do anything that would bring the wrong kind of attention to myself.

Sorry about above.....I misread and saw driving lights.
You could probably go inside the turn signal and unplug the wire used for the running light feature (blue on my 2008 Fatboy). There should be a wire for the turn signal feed and a wire for the running light. One more wire will be for the ground (black).
