I installed the Stebel on my '08 EGC. I Used a Dremmel to cut off the compressor and mounted it under the seat. I mounted the horn under the stock cow bell. It took a bit of trimming and trial and error but it works fine and looks good. I ran hard plastic tubing with black heat shrink over it from the compressor to the horn. There is not much room under the seat of an '08 and I have heard since doing mine that there is more room behind the right side cover but I haven't checked that yet.

There was a thread with pictures about doing this several months ago but I can't find it now.

If you're handy. you can put a Stebel under the stock cow bell cheap

Maybe just the horn section but not the whole unit.

It is the whole unit. Check out the 2nd picture.....I separated the compressor from the horn and mounted it in the cavity in front of the battery under the seat. :-) Mine was an '06 so I don't know about the '09's, but I'm sure one could find a spot to mount the compressor.

Thumbs up Air Horn

Thanks to all who responded with ideas for mounting the horn. I mounted it in place of the stock cowbell before I read the responses here, I couldn't wait. I hadn't thought of separating the units. I like the idea of putting the horn behind the cowbell and mounting the the compressor elsewhere (in the batwing maybe), I'll check that out when I have some down time. By the way, I love the horn but it scared the @#$$ out of my dogs and hurt my ears when I tried it in the garage. I will be heard on the road now!

Is it me? You separated the horn & compressor and mounted them both in different locations, right? That means the WHOLE unit is not mounted behind the cow bell........Guess we agree to disagree!!!

I had the Mini-Beast on my Ultra and really liked it. I have pre-ordered the Mini-Beast II for the SG - the same basic horn but in a teardrop shape.
