Installed the fork baffle and nothing changed
Wind still comes from the above the lowers and below the fairing
One thing that does help is when I wear a doo rag under my helmet
It keeps the helmet from sliding back on my head
I may try the fork deflectors next

NO, I am NOT buying a Wing

We have all changed something on our Harley's
For those that have changed exhaust
For those that have changed the mapping
For those that have changed the Air Cleaner

You changed what the MOCO couldn't do for you

This is just US fine tuning a great motorcycle to meet our needs

Very well put! I'm going to take a ride up to Cee Bailey's today and take a look at their SSC Shield.

Default Way back when............

Harley did design a bike in the wind tunnel. Pretty much zero buffeting. Smooth air flow. The FXRT/FXRD

They didn't sell well because they "Didn't look right". Those of us who had them would jump all over it if they built it again, mecanicaly updated that is.

I told you man, your helmet is the wrong size,if it's comfortable,it's too big.Should be tight with no pain.

Default Problem Solved

I now have the combination that eliminates the buffeting to as much as 95%. I have the fork baffle, adjustable fairing deflectors and most importantly, a Cee Bailey's SSC 10" shield. The Cee Bailey's is really what ended up fixing it. I had a 8" Clearview with recurve but the buffeting was still there. I can say now that it is gone! Whew! I just tried a taller 12" Cee Bailey's SSC which was actually quieter with less wind in my face but it was lots hotter and caused pressure on the back of my helmet. The current setup seems to be the ticket. I've already ordered a set of hard lowers which I really don't need now but I think they'll be nice once the cold weather actually gets here (its 90F today).

I hope this helps somebody else with the same problem.

thanks marc, I have been thinking about bumping up to a 9.5" Clearview
I sit on a sheepskin pad and w/ out the 8" is ok, but I ride w/ the pad
So I may try a blemished 9.5" recurve

I have an 06 Road King FLHRI and had the same problem as some mentioned here with respect to the deflector not helping much on a Road King. However, back in December I put on a Wide Open Customs detachable fairing and it completely went away at that point. So the combination of the fairing and the deflector is great.

I ordered the 9.5 Clearview. The 8 is about 90% where I need to be. I like to look over the screen. I have the 12 inch original on now but it makes the bike handle poorly at high speed.
