Once you try the Heritage bars just imagine how much better you ride will be once you switch the rest of the bike to a Heritage.

 

Replaced mine after the first year. The stockers made my left upper back /shoulder feel like someone was stabbing me after 30 miles!

 

Before I bought my RK, I sat on several different ones. Most of the handle bars were uncomfortable just sitting on the bike for more than five minutes.

The bike I bought must have been adjusted differently because the difference in comfort was very apparent. This bike was great. I rode it home - 150 miles - through some serious twisties and it was comfortable the whole way.

Adjustment makes a world of dirrerence.

I had the 508 Chubby bars and they killed my left sholder, what I found out after caling Wild 1 the 508 bars were made for the normal height or shorter folks. I'm 6'02 and they told me that I would need the 518 Chubbys as there for taller folks. The easy way to check is to measure the bars from grip tip to grip tip, they 518 are 35"

The 508s have essentially the same dimension as the stock RK Custom bars -- i.e., they have a significant pull-back, much like pushing a wheelbarrow. They might be OK for shorter riders, but they don't work for me (5'11"). They make my right forearm ache, as well, so I went for the 518s (RK Chubby II). They stretch you out a little bit more (and yes, they are 35").

 

First service , went to heritage bars and a sundowner,, that's money well spent

As said above, the 508's maintain the stock width, but come back an additional 3" which is about the length of your grips. The Herritage bars are more like a mini-ape, and the 518's are a wider "beach bar".

I had terrible trouble with the stock bars. I found great relief with the rider backrest installed. Now, in anticipation of some very long rides (plus I like the look), I ordered the 508s. To me, they look like they belong on the Road King. You can see a bunch of kings with these bars installed on the Wild1 website, like this one here:
