Yeah, I've ridden the RK Classic and its bars seem OK to me -- at least they don't have the serious pull-back that my Custom does. Many seem to like them, but they cause my right forearm to cramp-up, probably due to the wrist angle and throttle tension. The Chubby 518s have a nice, clean look (at a price) and I think I'm gonna give 'em a try.

3 Questions about the beach bars:
Do I have to change the cables?
Are they taller than Road King Classic stock bars?
Do the grips come closer to the rider?

The rise is lower than than the stock
and the handlebars/grips come closer to you. They are wider, 35.75 inches to be exact.

I too wanted to change my stock bars, but after 700 miles with the Sundowner Sole I've come to like the stock bars.
A thought to ponder
But Iam thinking a set of drag bars on 8" risers[&:] would really set my bike apart for the others. Yeah I know drag bars and a Road King don't seem to go together, but I had a set on my 1980 Sturgis and it was a very comfortable ride, beside if I don't like them, the stockers will be sitting in the garage

I just switched out my RK Custom bars for the Chubby 513 baby apes. They're very similar to the Heritage dimensions, but much wider, 36". They feel great, and look nice.
The 518's are nice, too, but I like my arms out in front of me. Keeps my back straight, instead of hunching over.
