Default Yet another seat thread

1st, the stock seat on my 07 Ultra isn't cutting it. I had it reworked with 2 inches of high density memory foam. That was an improvement, but it still is not enough for multi-day high mileage riding.

I have had Corbins in the past and I liked them, but my wife hated them. I recently sat on an '03 Ultra with a Mustang seat and wasn't wild about the seating position. I am pretty big 6' 2", 260 with a 34" inseam, and long arms so a little higher seating position will be OK. Moving back isn't really an option because I do ride two up a lot.

I have talked to a couple local riders who log long miles on Bill Mayer saddles and they both say they are OK, but wouldn't buy another one.

The two seats I am considering is a Leather Road Zeppelin or A Russell Day-long solo on my stocker. My wife is fine with the passenger portion of the stock seat. The Road Zeppelin is slightly more pricey but offers on the fly adjustability.

So I am looking for feedback from those who have or had one of these two seats.

Thanks

I can give you feed back on the Bill Mayer and Russell Day-Long. I had both of them on my 02 BMW. The Bill Mayer was not much better than stock. The Day-Long was the most comfortable motorcyle saddle I've ever sat on. You will not be disappointed with the Day-Long.

I was going to get a Zeppelin for my 07 too, then found out the driver seat is 21" wide......Now I don't claim to know all but I do know my wife, and she would complain about having to straddle that all day.

I have a leather Russell Day-Long on my 08 Ultra Classic. In my opinion, its the only saddle for long distance riding. I have used Russell's on BMWs, a Gold Wing, and now on the 08 Ultra. This past July, I did Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI from New Jersey in 9 days with no problems. On an old airhead BMW, I once did 931 miles (Key West to someplace in South Carolina) in a day on a Russell. It is expensive, but well worth it! I would also recommend the built-in Russell backrest.
