Default Lowering shocks

Can I replace the shocks on an '09 Ultra Classic without jacking up the rear end? New ones (HD lowering kit) are shorter by about an inch.

Thanks,

TXROADKING <- need to change that, traded my FLHR for an FLHTCU

Cool

pretty sure you'll have to support it under the belly and then lower it so the shorter shocks will reach the lower mount holes. again,,, pretty sure.

Are you wanting to lower it or just put better shocks on it at the same height?

I think you are asking if the bike has to be supported by a lift to replace the shocks.
It takes a lot of pressure to compress those shocks from their relaxed mode. On the other hand, if you are able to put one shorter shock on and then try to get the other longer shock off, it will be something like unhooking your garage door spring when the door is closed.
Be careful and think through what you are doing.
