SE Chrome air cleaner backplate
I just installed the SE Chrome air cleaner backplate, pn 29510-05, on my RK. I didn't like the black breather hoses that my setup came with and dumping oil mist at the bottom of the filter never made any sense to me. This backplate appears to be the same design as the newer stage I kits but it's CHROME. Anyway it really cleaned up the area around the carb and it directs the mist toward the carb throat insted of my timing cover. The breather bolts and tubes are alot easier to assemble than the old washer-banjo fitting-washer-bolt (x2) that I had. Thought I would pass it along for those that may be interested. Special thanks to my crew for all their support! That's "little Missy" Crewchief and "Big Molly"

RE: SE Chrome air cleaner backplate
Vern,
I had the same problem with the SE backplate..piece of sh**! I purchased an aftermarket Stage I kit, and it worked better with the oil mist! I barely see any oil dripping from the bottom of the air cleaner cover. I now also use the new HD Stage I filter (blue seal), as it doesn't need to be oiled anymore. Less messy than the K&N.
