Default Pic of the failed bearing out my IDS

This is what it looked like when it came out of the bike after only 10,000 or so miles.

Not to be rude, but there is a search feature on this site. This is especially useful because if you search several threads on IDS (Isolated Drive System) you'll get more than one guy's opinion and maybe learn something. That gives you an opportunity to form a somewhat intelligent opinion about a particular piece of equipment or piece of something else. Beware, because not everyone who posts here knows what they are posting about. Get as many opinions as possible.

IDS Isolated Drive System

On bikes pre 07 they had a rubber shock system at the final drive at the rear wheel...it cushioned the lash as the engine lugged down the road. HD then realized there mistake and has since put them on the new bikes and offered it to the owners of the 07's...some installed them themselves others had HD do it with a 100.00 grease monkey bucks.

Had it installed last September at the Harley dealership I originally bought the bike from new. The independent shop I took it to when I started hearing the knocking noise coming from the rear of the bike on Thursday believes it is water getting in there that caused the pre-mature wearing out of the bearing. There is a lot of rust in there.

Is there enough of the bearing left to read the brand? Anyone know who is supplying the bearings?
