Default 08 ultra cb

Hi Everyone,
Does the cb come standard on the 08 Ultra or is it a module you need to add on?
Thanks
Ray

I have the XM module and I really like it because you use the controls for the radio. Your hands never have to leave the grips.

I would not recommend the GPS module. It is very basic compared to what is available.

What do you all use the CB for while riding?

Not often. There is one guy I ride with once in a while who has an Ultra and we use the CB. Neither of us are rachet jaws though, so it usually means "I am getting off here" kind of communications.

When I go to Las Vegas, I'll monitor channel 19 for trucker talk on traffic. Most of the time, 19 is way to noisy for me.

CB is a has been radio service. Family Radio Service (FRS) is much more advanced, but not available on the Ultra.

I have only used my CB on one trip, but for that trip, it was great. I hooked up with some old friends, and we spent a few days riding through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. They all had GoldWings or Ultras with CBs. Since those parks are nearby and I had been there many times, I was able to point out many things of interest. We were also able to just visit a little as we rode. I turned it off when riding solo back home, but for riding in a group, it was nice. Have not used it since, but on the next trip with a group, I'm sure I will.
