18 Inchers on Electra Glide
Just bought a 2001 Electra Glide Classic to replace my (sadly) wrecked 2002 Road Glide.
I was stoked to read on the forum that 18 and even 21 inch wheels had no effect on handling on our tour bikes, but I gotta tell you, this new bike rides like a piece o' junk.
I'ts lowered, with 18" spoke wheels and avon low profile tires front and rear. Problem is the front end wobbles when in any turn over 60 mph, when changing lanes on the highway, when there are grooves in the road, etc... I ride relatively aggresively, and the Road Glide handled like a trooper. This E-Glide however is downright dangerous just cruising down the highway.
Do I need to
1. Put stock wheels and tires back on.
2. Put the suspension back to stock.
3. Stop whining - this is what Electra Glides do, and my standards are too high from riding a Road Glide for years.
