Default Roadking handlebar replacement?

Wondering how you get the fork lock bezel off so you can get to the bolts for the handbars? It doesn't mention this in my Harley manual...however it does have a diagram for removing the headlight nacelle which shows taking out the headlight and removing a nut that holds on the chrome nacelle strip.

u dont. leave the lock alone go in through the headlght from there u can remove 2 barrel nuts that hold the trim piece on.u can remove headlight basket as one piece(leaving headlight alinment alone) with 3 screws.

The headlight comes out in the bucket by taking out the 10 screws that go in the wellnuts that go in the nacelle edge.

Anyway, after you get the headlight out and the trim spear off, there is a machine screw at the front that has to come out. Then, use a thin screwdriver to pry the plastic ring from around the fork lock. Under the ring, you will find two Phillips head screws. They have to come out, then the clamp cover will lift off.

Dart,

Check out my how-to on the subject. It was an '07 but it should still be of help. And note my caution within the directions about the chrome nacelle strip - you don't want to snap a retainer stud.

On my 04 FLHRS there is a small gap that you stick a flathead in and twist it off, it's just a plastic piece. Then you can see the bolts.

there is no need to completely remove the nut and washer from the rear stud of the nacelle spear. loosen it enough that you can slide in out of the slot to the rear. that way you won't drop the nut and washer.
