Default Carbed cruise control warm up no ****

I installed the cruise control on my 03 Classic. No friction screw to hold the throttle open a little so it can warm up.

Anyone else experience this and figure out a solution? If you have a carbed RG, is it the same way, no friction screw?

John

Pretty sure the cruise control unit housing doesn't include the throttle lock screw--the screw when tightened would defeat the throttle roll-off, brake disengage, etc. safety functions used by the cruise module. And prevent the module from moving the cruise cable to close the throttle when a disengage event occurred.

That's right, there is no screw anymore. Safety issue.

So what's a poor boy to do other than stand there for 5 minutes holding the throttle open to warm it up? What's everyone else doing? I tried putting a screw in, but they ensured the hole was the wrong size. Phooey! Maybe I'll tap it for something.

I'm an EFI guy; but, itsn't there an idle adjustment screw on the right hand side--I'm pretty sure I've seen ***** on the end of rubber tubes that riders use for adjusting idle on carbed HD's.
