09 Ultra Question

I had the front and rear lowered and that dropped it back to last years seat height. I imagine with the reach seat you will drop another inch and possibly more once your seat is broken in. By the way one thing that works pretty cool is to have the chrome front end added when you lower the front, you save a little labor cost. I am 5' 8" with a 30" inseam.

I'm 5'10" with 30" inseam. I had a Sundowner seat put on my 09 Ultra before I left the dealer. That lowered the ride height just enough that I'm flatfooted on level ground. The more I ride it, the more comfortable it gets. The more troubling issue for me and maybe for you too, is the distance to the stock handlebars. I ride leaning just slightly forward. Not good on a long ride. I'll be putting on the pullback bars at the 1000 mile service. Looks like that will set me back about $600.

My friend just picked up a 2009 Rdglide and not many of the aftermarket rear shock lowering kits have caught up with the new frame design.
He was able to get a set of 12" low profile shocks from a pre-09 streetglide and they will bolt up fine.
I have a 2006 glide and used the aftermarket shock relocate kit. Am changing to 12" air shocks picked up at ebay for about $100 shipped new takeoffs.

You must measure your inseam differently because I wear 30" pants and can't get my heel to touch on a new Ultra. On a Street Glide, the front of my boot heel touches but I'm not flat-footed.
