Default Rear Brakes Thin... Best brakes???

10,000 miles on the Lyndall pads and they were thin. Could have gone a bit more, but the bike was apart anyway... put the factory pads on since they had 500 miles when I changed to Lyndall. What do you think is reasonable mileage for brakes? Interestingly the front brakes are fine... I do ride two up a lot (I am grateful that my wife likes to ride with me). The bike is fully dressed... Any thoughts? Do I keep the factory pads on and then what do I replace them with? Also, although I was told the Lyndall pads would not produce a lot of brake dust, it was pretty tough to keep the rear wheel clean.

lyndall z-pads (Z7195) are the best, in my opinion. They are quiet and long lasting. I have 12K on my rear pads and there is still meat on the pads. Regardless, I change the pads when I change the tire. No dust and no sequel.

That's what I used... the tire is still good but the brakes were not. Lot's of dust, too. Maybe I just got a bad set for the rear, because the fronts are great.
