If these guys are Pararescue, out of Hulbert Field, and the Air Force doesn't want them, then kick them out! HURT ME? These Special Op's guys can get a civilian job doing this work that they have been trained to do making a hell of alot of money.
You guys all bent of out shape because somebody broke the law......you sure you wnat to be a biker???? Sounds like a bunch of cop wanna-be's on here.
I myself, can't stand cops. F@ck 'em! The guys screwed up, and they got punished.
GET OVER IT.
Trust me when I tell you, the military needs these trained guy's. The guy's at Hurlbert field are not just a "common, run of the mill Airman".
These are the guy's that make it possible for you to sleep peacefully at night. Unless you are willing to take their place, then shut the f@ck up.

I'm one of those guys (Air Commandos), and I still think they are getting everything they deserve (between the courts and the command). Don't do the crime if you can't hack the time. Shame on them. BTW, I don't belive any of them were PJs, CCTs, or even aircrew. I'll try to check on Monday. Doesn't really matter what they are though (nor does it matter that Blackwater and others will pay them more once they get out)...they ****ed up and they are being punished.

You will never get over the thrill of speed. As you get older, you get wise about when and where you do it, but you never get over that feeling, and glancing down at the speed-o-meter and seeing 150mph and climbing, feeling the rush of air, the g's of acceleration, and everything becoming very narrow in your field of vision. It is a high. Just you and the bike and God. Every time I get on my rice rocket, I figure my ride isn't complete until I see that 150 mark, and it ain't hard at all with these new rice rockets. Like I say, I chose my time and place to do it, but even at my advanced age, I still get the thrill from speed. The group speeding thing, though, is asking for trouble. Seems like every cager has a cell phone anymore, and as soon as you blow them off at 150 plus, they just dial 911 and ol smokey bear is waiting for you at the next town. Can't outrun radio.
Now for highway comfort, and enjoyment, You can't beat the Ultra for a day ride on 2-lanes to nowhere special and back home, running the cruise set at 65mph all the way..
I thank these military bikers for their service to our country, and just warn them to be a bit wiser next time on where they do the speed trip.

Some of you may remember the thread about 2 months ago about the 12 crotch rocket riders who were all in the military out of Pensacola who were caught going over 140 mph on the interstate in the county I am from in South Alabama. They were caught by the law blocking an interstate bridge to stop them. They went to court yesterday and each got $250 fine and 2 years probation for any additional speeding infractions. I thought they got off easy, still haven't heard what the military did to them. By the way all 12 pled guility.
I'll jump in on this one and give everyone the thoughts of a active duty Air Force First Sgt (that's heading to Eglin AFB, FL in 3 weeks!!!)...
First and foremost, all military members (Air Force, Marines, Navy, Army and Coast Guard) are held to a HIGHER standard in relation to civilians. That being said, what they received by the civilian judge is irrevelant because they WILL be dealt with by the military (their Commander and First Sgt). Trust me, whatever they get from their CC and Shirt will be alot worse than any civilian legal system can impose. The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) allows us (the military) to punish military members on crimes/discrepancies that the civilian legal system wouldn't even touch or deal with. I won't get into the small details on this, but in a nut shell military members cannot be punished twice for the same infraction. In other words, since they were put in jail, charged fines and received probation for 2 years, the military cannot do the exact same punishment, but they can deal with them for their military misconduct in forms of nonjudical punishment.
What they received in my opinion was fair. But if they were my Airmen; let's just say that they would be "lit up like a Christmas tree" when I finished with them and would never think of jeoparizing their lives or the Air Force image again. Opps... that's the former MTI/MTL in me coming out! I have to control that sometimes, because I am getting old now and need to control my blood pressure...

you can believe this is some sort of plea deal! and the state probably considered itself pretty lucky that was able to get this far.if all of these guys could afford lawyers, this would've tied the system up for quite some time or could have. I'm not at all an expert at legal issues, but my own personal experiences by myself in court with a lawyer, gives me the impression that in this case there was too much going on for the court, to deal with. In my home state anybody convicted of going this fast definitely would've had their license revoked!

Being a MSF instructor is totally irrelevant. How is a MSF instructor different from any other rider? Are they better riders? Are they safer on the road? Do they even crash less or get fewer tickets? I bet none of the above. Hey, I was a Range Master when I was in the Navy, so that makes me an all around gun expert and a better shot than you, right?

I don't think anyone said being a RiderCoach makes them better riders, so I'm not sure what you are arguing about. What it does mean is that they had a responsibility to ride safely to set the example. I was an MSF instructor (lapsed while I was serving overseas on an exchange assignment), and that was part of the agreement...get tapped for being stupid on a bike and lose your instructor ticket.
As for the poster who commented about the need for speed...go to the track and goes as fast as you are...no need to endanger anyone else on public roads.

Wow Joe, how do you really feel? Have we had a few problems with LEO's? Sounds like someone needs to clean up their act a bit. I thank LEO's every time I have a chance for the job they do. I've never had a bad experience with them, but than again, I don't break the law.
