Bought a new set of HD clamps and put them on. Works like a charm with no more issues. Thanks for the advice.

Question for all of you that have already been through this:

Providing that they're fairly new, is it possible to reuse the stock harley clamps when installing the V&H slipons?

I guess you could, but I only spent $14 on the two at the dealership. Suprisingly they were not that expensive.

HAD same problem left side slipping loose put a set screw under saddlebag mount never moved again.

My V&H MO came with new clamps. Did you not get new ones or were the slip ons used?

The V&H clamps are crap. At least the ones I got were.

I haven't ordered the pipes yet, but have seen comments that the V&H clamps don't seem to work well. Once I get the monster ovals, I'm going to want to get them on right the first time - hence my question about reusing the stock HD clamps.

Dealership installed my monster ovals. They used the V&H clamps. After reading this post I checked it out and they are tight. No issues.
