Thunderheader slip-on muffler review

I have them on my 02 Road King. They are quite loud, but have a deep, booming sound. I used to have straightpipes with fishtails and a Chrome Werks baffle, which were louder. As for performance, they do exactly what they are advertised to do: great midrange and top end horsepower. My bike used to top out at around 112. No other changes, just the Thundercones and the PC III map, it now pegs the speedo. Low end throttle response suffers with these mufflers, the pay-off is the top end power.

Had them for close to a year, now, so that's about 12000 miles. Bought them used, and one was yellowed close to the header pipe connection, probably from the previous owner running his bike too lean. I put that one on the left side, which I have blocked off. The muffler on the right is not discolored in any way after approx 12000 miles except for the soot that blows back onto itself from the openings in the cone at the rear of the muffler. But like I said, that comes off if you work at it a little. There's a picture of the bike which I've been trying unsuccessfully to get to show up on my signature... maybe if you look at my profile it'll be there... you can have a look.
