Black is the best base for ghosting in flames and other designs. Black is cool, believe it or not I had to special order my 09 ultra in black, had to wait an extra month just to get a frikken black Harley, whats the world coming to? Does require a lot of maintenance though but worth it.

Vivid black and chrome is all that and a bag of chips, can't beat black and chrome.
Can't see swirl marks on my paint even in the britest sun and don't see it as an issue, can't get that deep rich look with any of the other colors.
I use harley swirl remover and wax once about every 3-4 months.
I never wipe the dust off my scoot dry.
I use baby shampoo when I wash it, won't eat the wax off
Always use a micro fiber cloth for washing and waxing
a black scoot to me always looks brand new

Just a thought, and I am not sure if this applies or not but some manufacturers are now using "water based" paints, meaning they are not using paints that emit VOC's which harm the environment. Just try to get somone to paint Imron anymore, probably one of the most durable paints that was made.

I don't think that the HD black is any softer than the other colors that are used, it is the clearcoat, and that is used on all colors so black just allows you to see the swirls easier.

I like black also, but not my first choice. In 08 it was the best color for a street gluide besides red. Every one wanted red so I took black Ck out my profile pic.
