I bought a half dozen veterinary syringes on line for a couple bucks. I fill one with 3in1 oil and inject it into the exposed end of the cable. No need to remove the cable at all. I do this at every fluid change and my cables are nice and slick.
I use an Inox Injector I picked up at the dealer. It has a 3" needle on the end to stick inside the cable housing. I can lube all of my cables in less than 5 minutes.
Did the baggie method last night. I felt like McGyver, and I swear I heard the theme from the A-Team playing as that beautiful tranny fluid slowly drained into the cable as I drank a Tall boy, musing over the genius of the person who thought of this.
You're a goddamn Genius Gump. Thanks for posting that.
This is awesome...thanks guys!
Cant wait to see the version of "Cable Lube For Dummies" picture. There has to be room for a dead cat in the cable somewhere
Later!
Ride safe
for some reason i'm thinking that the cables are teflon lined and do not require any lube. lube in the wrong places could gum up and cause more problems than you started out with. c'mon dawg, you should know when and if our cables are teflon or nylon lined.
One even easier undo clutch cable lay on floor and when u come back in morning to finish handle bar install u have oil on ground wasent funny at the time now it is
