Nice job. The chrome wheels are more visible (and the front looks better IMO) without the chrome/rubber front bumper.

But wouldn't that require filling the holes and repaining the fender? I've thought about doing the same.

I sort of like the fender trim.
I've had the forks since last year and was waiting to get wheels.
I found the Forge Tec Monarch wheels on Ebay at a good price and couldn't wait to install them. I needed a new front tire anyway so I decided to go with the blackwalls.
I have to learn how to post pictures in the message and my signature though.

Based on your sig pic, you have already removed the "chrome/rubber" front bumper. You are correct that you will have visible holes if you remove the fender tip light and stainless steel trim spears.
