While I will not support a French company(Michelin ) I can say that I have had Metzeler 880s on my RG since last winter. 10,000 miles later I still have great amount of tread depth up front and the rear is still in good shape too. I do have a flat spot(No, that is not a chicken strip ) in the center, but that has happened on every bike I have owned. It's from a). Living in the plain states where the roads are straight and flat, and b). Engine braking. The Metz is a great tire, much better in the wet and dry than the stock Dunlop.

I have had the commanders on for about 3500 miles, I am going a bit against the grain here about the praise for them, they are good tires, handle & ride good, are quiet, seem to wear very good, but I will say that they do NOT eliminate the tar snake wobble, I paid particular attention to this by intentionally riding over them with my dunlops and then with the michelins on the same road, and I could tell only a very slight improvement, not enough to make a real difference, IMHO.
